What is Tea Tree and why do we use it?

Tea Tree is an essential oil, also known as melaleuca oil or ti-tree oil. The essential oil derived from the Melaleuca Alternifolia, a plant mainly native to Australia. Back in the 1920's Arthur Penfold discovered that Tea Tree oil had a strong future due to its powerful antiseptic properties. In the 60's and 70's massive plantations were set up to keep up with the demand for Tea Tree.

Whilst Tea Tea is toxic if taken orally, the magic of Tea Tree is its medicinal properties which have been studied over seven decades and results have shown that Tea Tree kills many strains of fungi, bacteria, and viruses.

Tea Tree has many benefits whether it is its antimicrobial properties that kill the bacteria that causes bad odour when we sweat or it's antifungal properties that can be used on athletes foot and toenail fungus to stop and prevent the condition.

Recent studies have also proven that Tea Tree oil is fantastic at fighting cancer. Whilst the cure for cancer not known, Tea Tree has shown great results in defeating cancer, it was found that Tea Tree had great effects in boosting immunity and reducing tumours.

Overall, Tea Tree is a powerful ingredient that we use in our skin care products for its incredible benefits to the skin. From Face Wash to AfterShave Balm, Beard Oil to Shampoo you can see which collections have this super essential in.
